Άκρως ενδιαφέρουσα όμως και για τους γνώστες και τους μελετητές του Καβάφη, η εισαγωγή μιλάει για τη γλώσσα του ποιητή και τους ιδιωματισμούς της, για τα διαδικασία της μετάφρασης και για τη μορφή των γραπτών του. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eΑπό την κλασική αναγνωρισμένη \"Ιθάκη\" και τα \"Κεριά\", από τα μυθολογικά όπως η \"Συνοδεία του Διονύσου\" μέχρι τα ιστορικά όπως οι \"Θερμοπύλες\" και μέχρι τα πιο ανθρώπινα και αισθησιακά όπως οι \"Ψυχές των γερόντων\" και το \"Θυμήσου σώμα\", ο Καβάφης ευαισθητοποιεί, προβληματίζει, εμπνέει και ανταμείβει κάθε αναγνώστη.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eΠολλαπλοί οι αποδέκτες μιας τέτοιας έκδοσης, καθώς το βιβλίο δεν απευθύνεται μόνο στους ξένους που επισκέπτονται τη χώρα μας και θέλουν να γνωρίσουν μια ακόμα φωνή του ελληνικού πνεύματος. \u003cbr\u003eΤο βιβλίο αφορά τους μελετητές της νεοελληνικής γραμματείας, Έλληνες και ξένους, τους Έλληνες δεύτερης γενιάς που μεγαλώνουν μακριά από άμεσα ερεθίσματα, καθώς και όλους όσους διδάσκουν ή μαθαίνουν αγγλικά, αλλά και αντίστροφα.
