Πραγματοποιήθηκαν 55 εισηγήσεις που αφορούσαν το θεωρητικό και κυρίως το ερευνητικό έργο 148 επιστημόνων, σε 16 παράλληλες Συνεδρίες με 12 θεματικές ενότητες. Οι θεματικές ενότητες κάλυψαν ένα μεγάλο φάσμα ζητημάτων αγροτικής οικονομίας, από την αγροτική πολιτική, την παραγωγή, την ανταγωνιστικότητα και την εμπορία μέχρι ζητήματα πολυτομεακής ανάπτυξης και πολυ-δραστηριότητας, εκπαίδευσης-πληροφόρησης, εναλλακτικών μορφών διαχείρισης, καταναλωτικής συμπεριφοράς, προστασίας και ασφάλειας των τροφίμων, κ.λπ. Συγκεκριμένα, οι ενότητες αφορούσαν τους ακόλουθους θεματικούς άξονες:\u003cbr\u003e1. Αγροτική πολιτική (μεταρρυθμίσεις, αναθεωρήσεις, επιπτώσεις και προσαρμογές).\u003cbr\u003e2. Γεωργική παραγωγή και παραγωγικότητα, τεχνολογική προσαρμογή και ανταγωνιστικότητα.\u003cbr\u003e3. Πολυτομεακή ανάπτυξη και απασχόληση στον αγροτικό τομέα.\u003cbr\u003e4. Πολυτομεακή ανάπτυξη και εναλλακτικός τουρισμός.\u003cbr\u003e5. Το αγροτικό τοπίο και η νέα γεωγραφία της ελληνικής υπαίθρου.\u003cbr\u003e6. Αγροτικοί συνεταιρισμοί και γυναικεία επιχειρηματικότητα.\u003cbr\u003e7. Εκπαίδευση, κατάρτιση, ενημέρωση και πληροφόρηση στον αγροτικό τομέα.\u003cbr\u003e8. Τρόφιμα και καταναλωτές (Συμπεριφορά, πρότυπα, προστασία, ασφάλεια, και παρεμβάσεις, πληροφόρηση).\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eΑκόμη, το Συνέδριο τίμησαν με την παρουσία τους δύο επίσημοι προσκεκλημένοι οι οποίοι με ομιλίες τους κάλυψαν επίκαιρα ζητήματα αγροτικής οικονομίας.\u003cbr\u003eΣτο Συνέδριο τιμήθηκε ο Ομότιμος Καθηγητής του Γεωπονικού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών κ. A total of about 460 abstracts and 320 papers had been submitted in the\u003cbr\u003econference - most of them, about 60% from abroad. \u003cbr\u003eThe 2nd Changing Cities conference has also attracted the attention of scholars, not only from Greece, the Balkans and Europe, but also from far-away countries like USA and Canada, Brazil, Chile, Colombia in Latin America, and China, Japan and Australia in the far-east. We have received 510 abstracts and more than 350 papers. Among the scholars participating, there are about 192 Greek academics and researchers. This indicates that despite shortage of research funds, salary cuts, and broken morale, university teachers and researchers in Greek state universities try hard to keep a high-level academic status.
