Σύντομα οι επισκέπτες αρχίζουν την περιπλάνηση στα πιο \"περίεργα\" και προχωρημένα μέρη της σύγχρονης Ιαπωνίας, συναντώντας σχεδιαστές μάνγκα και σκηνοθέτες κινούμενων σχεδίων, εντυπωσιακούς σωσίες, τους λεγόμενους \"απεικονιστές\", οι οποίοι, μέσα από αλλόκοτες εμφανίσεις, υποδύονται διάφορες προσωπικότητες καθώς και μοναχικούς οτάκου, που βιώνουν τον κόσμο αποκλειστικά μέσα απ' την οθόνη του υπολογιστή. Απ' τις συναντήσεις αυτές προκύπτει μια εξαιρετική σύνοψη της ιαπωνικής ιστορίας και κουλτούρας, της υψηλής αλλά και της λαϊκής - απ' τους σαμουράι μέχρι τους μισθωτούς υπαλλήλους, από το Θέατρο Καμπούκι μέχρι τη μεταπολεμική φρενίτιδα με τα ρομπότ.\u003cbr\u003eΟι παρατηρήσεις του Πίτερ Κάρει είναι πάντα προκλητικές, ακόμη και όταν οι οικοδεσπότες τού υποδεικνύουν, ευγενικά πάντα, ότι για άλλη μια φορά έχει κάνει λάθος όσον αφορά την Ιαπωνία.
