Κατά συνέπεια, η μελέτη και ερμηνεία μίας γενικής θεώρησης της τουριστικής ανάπτυξης στις αναπτυσσόμενες χώρες απαιτεί, χωρίς άλλο, τη διεπιστημονική συνεργεία. Πέρα από αυτό, όμως, επειδή ο τουρισμός από τη φύση του έχει, όπως ήδη ειπώθηκε, πολυσύνθετο και πολυδιάστατο χαρακτήρα και ως εκ τούτου οι επιδράσεις του στις οικονομίες των αναπτυσσόμενων χωρών και όχι μόνο κάθε άλλο παρά εύκολα μπορούν να εκτιμηθούν, απαιτείται η στήριξή του σε μία συστημική ανάλυση. Αυτή είναι οπωσδήποτε αναγκαία, γιατί ο τουρισμός δεν αποτελεί ένα κλειστό σύστημα. Εξαιτίας αυτού του γεγονότος, ο τουρισμός επηρεάζεται από το περιβάλλον στο οποίο είναι ενταγμένος και αντίστροφα οι όποιες επιδράσεις του, από την ανάπτυξη της δραστηριότητάς του, διαχέονται και επηρεάζουν το περιβάλλον του.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eΚατόπιν όσων εκτέθηκαν πιο πάνω, γίνεται σαφές ότι το πολυσύνθετο και πολυδιάστατο του τουριστικού φαινομένου, επιβάλλει ένα διαφορετικό τρόπο προσέγγισης των προβλημάτων του.
