Η βούληση άλλωστε του ίδιου του συλλέκτη, που με τόση οξυδέρκεια και διορατικότητα συγκέντρωσε τα έργα, ήταν η συλλογή να μείνει για πάντα στην Ελλάδα και να αποτελέσει αντικείμενο μελέτης και έρευνας του νεότερου ευρωπαϊκού πολιτισμού.\u003cbr\u003eΟ δρόμος για την απόκτηση της συλλογής δεν ήταν εύκολος. Χρειάστηκαν επίπονες, μακροχρόνιες και συντονισμένες προσπάθειες πολλών ανθρώπων, προκειμένου να περιέλθει στην κυριότητα του Κρατικού Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης και να εγκατασταθεί μόνιμα στη Θεσσαλονίκη, ώστε να έχουμε σήμερα το προνόμιο να απολαμβάνουμε μία από τις σπουδαιότερες εικαστικές συλλογές του 200ύ αιώνα, η οποία έχει όχι μόνο εικαστική και εκπαιδευτική σημασία, αλλά και τεράστιο ερευνητικό ενδιαφέρον .Πιστεύω ότι η επιλογή μου να εγκατασταθεί η Συλλογή Κωστάκη στη Θεσσαλονίκη, έχει πια δικαιωθεί.\u003cbr\u003eΘα ήθελα να χαιρετήσω την έκθεση Κατασκευή. Ο Τάτλιν και ο Κύκλος του, που φιλοδοξεί να αποτυπώσει όχι μόνο τη δημιουργία του Τάτλιν, ενός από τους σημαντικότερους Ρώσους δημιουργούς του 20ού αιώνα, αλλά και το έργο άλλων Ρώσων καλλιτεχνών, που τα χρόνια μετά την οκτωβριανή Επανάσταση, προσπάθησαν να επαναπροσδιορίσουν την έννοια της τέχνης και του ρόλου του καλλιτέχνη μέσα στην κοινωνία, να πειραματιστούν πάνω σε νέες μορφές και να κατακτήσουν την ουτοπία και το καινούργιο.
